Thoughtful answers to meaningful questions.

Psychological and psychoeducational evaluation for children, teens, and adults — ages 7 and up — in Hillsborough, North Carolina, an easy drive from Mebane, Burlington, Roxboro, and Durham alike. When something isn't making sense at school, at work, or at home, a careful evaluation can turn confusion into a way forward.

Rooted in place. Committed to understanding.

Most people who come here have been living with a question for a long time. Many have been dismissed, minimized, or handed a label that never quite fit.

I do one thing, and I do it thoroughly: I help people understand what's actually going on. Not a score. Not jargon. An honest, plain-language picture of how you or your child thinks, learns, and feels — and what to do next.

You've noticed something — at school, at work, in daily life — and you want real answers. Start here to see how an evaluation works, what it can tell you, and how to begin.

How it works

Referring providers

Pediatricians, therapists, and school teams: I built this practice to be the evaluator you can hand a family to with confidence. Clear referral questions in, usable reports and closed loops back.

The approach

Most testing tells you about a person. Therapeutic Assessment works with them.

It's a collaborative model in which the assessment itself becomes the intervention — and it's the heart of how I practice. For some people, it's also worth doing at full depth.

What makes it different

People change more readily when they feel understood than when they're simply told what's wrong.

Rooted in place

Named for the river and the road

Hillsborough exists because two paths crossed — the Eno River and the Great Trading Path, meeting at a ford. This practice takes its bearings from that crossing: people find their way through here.

The compass in the logo isn't decoration; it's the whole idea.
